Inside an IdiOtbOx is… ME
I’m currently reading John Gray’s book, Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus. But I am not yet really done "screening" all its pages. I said "screening" kay I don’t have enough time to do a sideline reading. With the kind of work I have right now, ambot lng jud kung dili mo kapoyo halag basa.
Anyways, I find the book very interesting and worthy of being read. I’ve learned some things that were unknown to be before or things that I had just ignored. But before sharing with those stuffs, I just wanna post a question. (ehem-ehem…sa nakabasa lng kay basin maglibog mog samot sa akong pangutana). Why did Gray titled his book as such? What’s with Mars and Venus? One thing’s in common, both were names of Roman god and goddess of war and love, respectively. So? Malay ko…just thinking aloud? Just in case you know why, please tell me. I would be glad.
"Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus…" sounds like we’re talking here about two very different species. Aliens? Perhaps… It’s kinda’ odd, which makes it more "controversial." It seems men and women are really two entities which are very difficult to reconcile. Mao cguro na pirmi na sila mag-away although there are also some intances na sweet na sila kaau. Strange…sort of…
But the ultimate way to understanding both of them is to know their differences…
P.S. (it’s me, Prechell thinking aloud…)
"The story that i’m going to tell you isn’t really just about another book I read. It’s about my friend and her Dad."
She’s Melissa. I have just known her lately, well, at least almost two months now… We are working in the same office. She’s about 5′8", I think…She’s of Chinese descent…ummm…she’s fluent in Chinese. May be you’re wondering what’s the connection of my saying these. Nope! I’m not talking about "bullshit" here…I haven’t known her that much but judging her basing on those things that I know…she’s a kind and very delicate a "kid." I say a "kid" because with her height, she’s still acting like a child (sometimes?)…
Her Dad’s got a cancer. She (with her siblings) had just discovered it after her Dad went to a doctor. I once saw her with heavy eyebags…she’d cried for a couple of times…iyakin kasi…but who would not cry if somebody close to you is dying…hell, yes I would probably have the same reaction…
But I am hoping that she’ll get through with it…that’s life…death is inevitable. People live, people die. Someone comes, someone leaves us behind. Death teaches us to know how to value our lives. If it’s our time to leave this world…if it’s time for us to die, then be it. I’m not bragging like I’m telling you that I’m not afraid to die. I am afraid to die. And if ever I am going to die, I’m asking God to tell me ahead of time to at least give me some time writing loveletters to those people close to me…and most of all, I would like to ask God to let me die a "natural" death. Hehehe…
However, as of now, I don’t have any plans of letting myself die such an early age. Heller! I’ve just turned 20 and I definitely believe that there’s still a lot things in store for me.
"AND BESIDES, I HAVEN’T HAD ANY BOYFRIEND YET, WHICH MEANS TO DIE AT THIS VERY MOMENT IS A BIG NO-NO!"
